Results to Round 5 (or 6 for the seniors) now up.
http://www.netspeed.com.au/ianandjan...DoeberlCup.htm As at the time I left (7pm AEST) de Noskowski had won in the Major, and the top Premier boards had all finished with Mikhalevski the only full point of those 4/5 and above (I think). There are some games on Ozbase now. http://www.ozbase.com.au/ |

Good going for Igor G too, with draws against 2 GMs and Gary Lane.

Round 6 results are up. The cross tables include the provisional Round 7 pairings for those wanting to work out the permutations.

Final results now up (in SP dump format, will be tidied up in the next day or so when I get some energy).
Ian Rogers won the Premier from IMs Solomon, Smerdon and Lane. Adrian de Noskowski won the Major, Jonathan Shen the Minor and Bob Gibbons the Seniors. |

Well done to Ian Rogers on the win. I am a bit surprised, but pleased to see the top 4 positions filled by Aussies. Great result by Junta Ikeda. Great to Kanikevich playing again and a quite reasonable result for a player who hasn't played for as long as he has.

Thanx Ian. Black seems to be winning in the final position of Solomon v Timosjenko; and in Solomon v Shipov, it doesn't make much sense unless Black's 6th was h6 not b6. |

Tremendous result for all those Aussies at the top. Would be great to see Solo reproduce that form for a GM norm at the SIO.

Solo performance rating: 2690.
![]() Smerdon: 2595, worth another 10 rating points or so - probably only 15 points or so away from the magic 2500 now. Ikeda: 2519! And not least, of course Rogers 2716. Last edited by pax : 09-04-2007 at 11:57 PM. |
