City of Sydney Rapid Play Feb 2010

The City of Sydney Rapid Play will be on Sunday 21 Feb 2010 (yes I have the year right for once!). Details are on the NSWCA web site here.
Basics: 9 rounds of 20 mins + 10 sec increment. Refgo closes 10.30 am, play starts 11 am.
Email entries to tournaments@nswca.org.au or mail an entry form with payment to NSWCA, GPO Box 2418, Sydney, NSW 2001.
A strong and large field is expected. I will be playing in this event.

Not such a marathon as that post suggested. There are in fact 7 rounds, not 9. Prizegiving timed for 7.30ish. Thanks George!
Also, you can turn up on the day, pay and play, as long as you register before 10.30 am.

Bare results

Max Illingworth won with 6.5 out of 7. 2nd was Vlad Smirnov and 3rd Johnny Bolens (who won yesterday's Mingara event, for a good weekend's work). Along the way Max beat IM George Xie.

All round, a great day for norths chess club. Not only 1st and 2nd but also grade prizes. Peter Abbott shared the U 1800 prize and I rather luckily took out the U 1600 grade prize. The U 1400 grade prize went to junior Dominic Mah.

No doubt before too long Brett will post the full cross-table.

Brett,

Can you please provide the cross tables with local ratings and in score order? The cross table seems to be in start order.

For the sake of completeness, I add that Singaram Subramanian won the U 2000 grade prize and Peter Abbott shared the U 1800 prize with Dick Davies.

Brett has his name wrong.

It is Subramanian Singaram.

I'll fix it on my scoresheet then! He beat me, but not without a fight.

With a rapid rating of 1948 he was the highest rated among the under 2000 group.
